Planned for a wooded hillside lot on Whidbey Island overlooking Penn Cove. In the winter, the environment is mildly and constantly wet and commonly overcast. The roof truss-cantilever protects the adjacent deck from light rain. Its orientation was flipped upside-down to act as a reflector, bouncing the light off of the cove below into the open-plan living space.
