Veil Residence

Building in LA commonly means dealing with hillside development, and all that includes: seismic, soils, city and more. Beyond that – once the house is done the day to day dilemma is that you have given up yard for view. But what if that is not the only choice? This project was an attempt to do just that: The house includes a 2 car garage, and above that an office, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, an open space for kitchen, living and dining and a very tight back yard. But – above all that – the entire roof is a roof top deck, with views of the Dodger Stadium fireworks, the Griffith Park Observatory, the La Crescenta – La Canada foothills and nightly sunsets. The market responded quickly, and the house was sold the morning of the first open  house…above asking price…in a down market…who says design doesn’t sell?
