Pasadena Residence

This home was a low, tiny midcentury modern on a steep hillside, and that hillside gave way in a landslide, pulling the deck and dirt away from the house. The owner had pilings and a structural deck on the site to secure the house. Our scope was to develop a design to accommodate the owner’s desire to expand the bedrooms and overall house. Taking advantage of the structural deck, the gorgeous sunset views and the difficult city standards, we worked to develop a design that accommodated 2 cars (the original had1) and bedrooms that were bigger than the small original ones.
